Court Support - Litigation/McKenzie friend
With our court support service you're not alone.
Attending court can be very stressful, especially if you do not know what to expect. Navigating the Family Law minefield can be a lonely, distressing experience. Many people question whether they need a solicitor to represent them as the costs are so high. Worrying about facing court alone can also take its toll and increase stress.
We recognise the benefit of some informed support when you cannot afford a solicitor to take your case to court. McKenzie or Litigation friends can offer that support and with court permission, go into court with you so you are not on your own. They can attend with you and take notes on your behalf. They cannot put forward your case but they can give you advice and direction outside of the Court Hearing. They are there in court as a second pair of ears and to keep a record of what was said, which allows full concentration on putting forward the case for you and takes some of the pressure off.

Court Support costs
There is a charge of £350 per day in attending court, or £175.00 for half day Hearings.
All the notes and key points of discussion outside of court will be emailed to you after the Hearing as part of the service to ensure you have a good record.

Document Preparation
We can also help with filling in court forms when they need to be completed. The forms can be confusing and we can go through them with you and complete them on your behalf, with your information, ensuring that they are put together correctly.
We can assist with preparing witness statements, using your information to put your case in the best possible way, to tell your story.
We cannot represent you at court under this service but we can assist with preparing documents on a fixed fee basis. We can review and help prepare them for you but limit your costs by not ‘running’ the case. If you have no legal representation and need help with Court, please do get in touch.
Book an inital consultation
We can arrange a consultation with you that will help you decide with more clarity what your next steps may be and the options available to you. A one hour consultation is £50.00 and will provide initial guidance so you can decide what level of support suits you.
