Family Law Advice
Affordable family law advice.
Practising in Family Law over the years has shown that not everybody wants representation on an ongoing basis and many people end up in court un-represented through lack of initial advice and because they cannot afford a solicitor. Our experience not only in Family Law but also being a member of Resolution www.Resolution.org, can assist with encouraging settlement wherever possible to try and avoid court proceedings. Strategic and practical, as well as legal advice is provided.
We provide legal advice from a solicitor (https://www.linkedin.com/in/laura-jennings-71881422/?originalSubdomain=uk ,as and when you need it on fixed fee costs. This can help you to understand the grounds for divorce and how to start the process, www.gov.uk/apply-for-divorce, your rights on separation, arrangements for children, including if one parent is looking to move in the UK or abroad; dividing property and maintenance for you or child maintenance. We can prepare Separation Agreements, Parenting Agreements, advise on options following mediation and prepare and advise on Consent Orders.

Should you have court proceedings in place, we can help with completing forms for you on your case or give guidance as to the process and next steps. We can also help by giving guidance with witness statements, including in Non-Molestation or Occupation Orders Domestic Abuse cases, Child Arrangements cases, or help with putting together your Form E financial statement information. All carried out on a fixed fee to give cost efficient support and advice.
Drafting or reviewing Living Together Agreements and Prenuptial agreements can all be done, also on a fixed fee basis. These can give certainty and peace of mind when you are starting out in your cohabiting or married lives.

Know Your Options
Our aim is to help make your journey through the process as straightforward as possible. We recognise that relationship and family breakdowns can be stressful and challenging. Informed advice as to options can be so helpful no matter what stage you are at. It can give you an understanding of how issues can be resolved and the law that applies, to set you on a clear path.
We can work alongside mediators, www.berkshirefamilymediation.org.uk, providing advice at stages in the process, including on the final agreement. The level of advice during the mediation journey can be tailored to what the individual needs. Avoiding lengthy court proceedings wherever possible is better for everybody involved.
