Terms and Conditions
www.legaltips.co.uk is a site operated by Legal Support and Advice Services Ltd . We are registered in England and Wales under company number 12983629 and have our registered office at 353 Overdown Road, Tilehurst, Reading RG31 6PL.
We are a Legal Service unregulated by the SRA.
Our business combines the provision with legal advice with other services and therefore we are unregulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. We can therefore offer more competitively priced quotes for the services than if they were being provided by a regulated law firm.
We are not required to have professional indemnity insurance that meets the SRA’s minimum terms and conditions. The SRA requires that law firms it regulates have compulsory minimum levels of insurance to protect clients in case something goes wrong. These arrangements do not apply to our business as we are not regulated by the SRA.
We are required to tell you that you will not be able to claim on the SRA Compensation Fund. The Compensation Fund exists to assist clients who have suffered loss because of a solicitor’s dishonesty of failure to account for money which they have received. The Compensation Fund does not apply to businesses with a turnover of less than £2million.
In the event of any complaints, please contact Laura Jennings in the first instance. I would hope that we would be able to resolve any issues between ourselves. Complaints will be dealt with promptly, fairy and free of charge.
If we cannot resolve the issue between ourselves, for the work carried out by a our solicitor you have a right to complain to the Legal Ombudsman if you are unhappy about the services they have provided. This is an independent complaints body, established under the Legal Services Act 2007 that deals with Legal Services Complaints. You have six months from the date of the outcome of the complaint decision in which to complain to the Legal Ombudsman.
The details are:
PO Box 6806
Telephone: 0300 555 0333
In the event that your complaint is regarding our non-solicitor adviser and we cannot resolve the issue between us, you have a right to complain to the Trading Standards office at Reading Borough Council.
